A forbidden romance and second chance love story? I could not pass this one up!

Allie is an heiress and therefore hasn’t been free to love who she chose. After 10 years, Hudson comes back into her life. The boy from “the wrong side of the tracks” is back, but now he’s a man. All man, if you catch my meaning! But once again Allie is torn between what is expected of her and where her heart wants to go…which way will she go?

Ok, so forbidden romance I get, but what I really had a hard time wrapping my mind around was the fact that sure – once upon a time Hudson was the wrong kind of kid for Allie, but now he’s a self-made billioinaire. What family would have a problem with THAT? Plus, if he’s got all of this money then why would Allie need to worry? … [Read More ...]

Remind Me (Chasing Fire #1) by Ann Marie Walker &Amy K. Rogers

Life is looking up for Violet in many ways. Her love life is smoking hot, her business life is going well and yet someone is out to ruin her. Who is behind the plot to try and bring down Vi, Lily and Dahlia? In the midst of all of this, can she find the one man who can accept her as she is? Vi wants it all and isn’t willing to setting for less, and in this final installment big truths are revealed and the whole story finally comes together.

So, I’ve been waiting a long time for this book – to see what finally all of this has been about! I think Vivian Winslow saved the best for last with this one, because this is one dark and twisty journey that you can’t help but get into. It is not predictable but it’s still hot and intriguing!

Vi as … [Read More ...]

True Violet (The Gilded Flower Series, #9) by Vivian Winslow

A story with a title like this just cannot be passed up. At least, I can’t pass up a short story involving human enslavement and tentacles.

Let’s break it down: earth has been overtaken by aliens. Benji is a headstrong youth who does something supremely stupid as a joke that endangers his entire community. When alien enforcers show up, Benji finds out he must be put up for adoption to tentacled aliens. This could be really bad for Benji…or as it turns out weirdly wonderful in a tentacled alien forced sex kind of way.

First off, one thing that really surprised me is that this book is very well written. The subject matter is a bit zany, I think it’s safe to say, but this book has a great flow and is written concisely. It has good action and is basically an enjoyable, though ew-inducing, read.

I know what you’re … [Read More ...]

Meeting the future in-laws can be nerve wracking. I’m guessing it’s even more nerve wracking when you’re Wiley Cantrell. When Wiley’s future in-laws come for a visit, he’s presented with a whole new mess of challenges.  He already has so much going on with Noah, his special needs son, how can he possibly take the complications that the parents add to his already complicated situation? Can Wiley and Jackson navigate the hardships that life has thrown them in order to become a real family and get their own happily ever after?

I really liked the first book in this series. It was touching, and this book was no different for me. But, it’s a tough read. So much crap is flung Wiley’s way in this book, it just seems like a never ending stream and quite honestly, it gets a little exhausting. It makes for a dramatic and good story, … [Read More ...]

Deep (Stage Dive #4) by Kylie Scott

**WARNING** This is not your typical romance.
This book is DARK. If you’re expecting this story to end in a happily ever after, this book is NOT for you. Although there are romantic elements, building for further into the series, you will not be swept off your feet by the last sentence. You will most likely be left open-mouthed or cursing me to hell and back. If you like huge doses of obsession, stalking, bloodplay (think, vampire)….then, yes, this book is for you.
There are things that exist that cannot be explained or comprehended. Creatures so terrifying that the human mind refuses to believe the possibility of existence. Romantism of evil can only get you so far—dead.
The stories are there throughout history. The proof is not. At least…until now.
We’re here, moving amongst the shadows. Living beneath the homes and streets you believe are safe. You are not safe. [Read More ...]
