We are sure there are some questions that authors or readers may have.  These are some of the common questions that we have been asked!

  1. Why should an author use a blog to promo books?

By using blogs to help promote books increases the amount of people who will see your book. Blogs have a large reach of people who are always looking for a new read, and by promoting with them you will then have access to that reach as well.

  1. What platforms do you post your reviews on?

We currently cross-post all of our reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. If requested, we can/do post on Barnes & Noble. However other platforms are up to the specific reviewer. We can NOT post reviews on Smashwords unless we were gifted the book via them.

  1. If my book gets a review below 3 stars, am I informed before posted?

You are not informed before the review is posted. However when we send out the email notifying you that the review was posted, if it is a 2 or 1 star review, it is mentioned in the email itself. That way you have the choice in reading the review or not.

  1. Do you let the author know they got a 1-2 star and can the author say don’t post it?

As mentioned above, we do not notify the author if the book is rated below 3 stars before the posting of the review. When submitting a review request to the blog, you do have to verify that you understand that we do post below 3 star reviews. When we are contacted for a review, it is because the author is looking for us to give our thoughts and opinions on the book in question. We cannot do that if we are being required to rate a book a certain rating.

  1. How many reviewers do you have?

We currently have 8 reviewers on our crew, however we are always looking for new reviewers to join us.

  1. What is the turn-around-time for my book to be reviewed?

The turnaround does vary. For novellas or short stories, it can be anywhere from 2-3 months. If it is a full length novel, it can be anywhere from 4-6 months. However if you have a set date in mind that you need the review by, you can let us know on the Review Submission form and we will try to fit it in (but there are no guarantees).

  1. What other services do you provide besides a review service?

We do offer guest posts and monthly spotlights on the blog. We do not do cover reveals on the blog itself, however we do post them on the blogs Facebook Page.

  1. What genre’s do you read/review?

We review any genre out there. The only hard limits that the blog has is that we do not review any books that there is sexual contact with anyone under the age of 18.

  1. I submitted my book for review, what’s next?

First, please be aware that not every book that is submitted for review will be accepted. Second, after you submit your book for review, the book information you have provided will be sent to the Reviewers who review for Crystal’s Many Reviewers. If the book is accepted, we will send you an email detailing what information we need from you. After we receive that information, then the reviewer will add your book to their reading list. Once the review is posted, you will receive an email from us with the direct link to your post.

  1. Do you review only Indie Published books?

We do not only read Indie (self-pub) books.  We review books from Indie authors as well as Traditional Published authors.

  1. Can I choose which reviewer I want to review my book?

You can request a certain Reviewer, however it is ultimately the decision of the Reviewer in question.  We do offer all books that come in for review to all the Reviewers, and one of them may accept it.  If you only want 1 certain Reviewer to review your book (and nobody else), you can make a note of that in the Questions and Comments section of the review request and if they do not accept it, then it will not be accepted for review.

  1. Can I email my review request to you?

Please do not email a review request to the blog directly.  Instead use the form under the Review Requests tab.  The reason for this is because that way all the review requests are kept in 1 place and so one doesn’t get lost in the shuffle.
