Wade Maguire and Russ Paulson are in love. After a year of passion and happiness, they’re buying a home and moving in together. Everything is rosy for them—until a jealous and insane ex from Wade’s past puts all of that to the test.

After being kidnapped and tortured by his deranged former lover, Wade loses his ability to engage with his own sexuality or with Russ. With the help of a psychologist, EMDR therapy, and a sex plan, they work together to overcome the damage inflicted. In the process, they discover wells of love they’ve never known before.

As passion is reborn and their sex life reignited, Wade realizes a need to re-experience certain events in Russ’s loving arms. For Wade, the difference between pain and pleasure is love, and the difference between rape and rough sex is consent.

Dark, and yet ultimately hopeful, this book contains many emotional and graphic sex scenes, as well as some scenes of torture. This book deals with rape and rape recovery. Proceed with care.

Stand-alone with a happy ending. 78,000 words. addtogoodreads_zps55cd15da14

This book is hard to read. It deals with rape, torture, and the long fight through rape recovery.

New love is all about fun, sex, and all the good things in life.  When a relationship deepens we find out about the little things that drive us crazy.  Each must decide if these are things we can live with.

Our story starts out about a year into a full and loving couple, as one takes a trip to rekindle a friendship that has suffered.  However things go wrong very soon.  A fun-loving man is kidnapped by said friend, and hell begins.  Tied up, raped and tortured by a man he thought he knew.  Mental illness is strong and scary up close.

When he is saved, the long road to recovery starts.  The love of a strong partner is all that keeps him together.  Months go by with very slow progress.   But strength that is only seen in victims prevails.  The cost of being the stable one is high, who do our loved ones talk to.  They must deal with the new version who comes out of the tragedy.

Sometimes when things go bad in our lives we lash out or forget that the people we love are going through a different kind of hell with us.  I really think this is a great read, difficult at times but strength and love come out loud and clear.
