For over a hundred years, the Berserker warriors have fought and killed for kings. There is but one enemy we cannot defeat: the beast within.
This book continues the story of Brenna, Samuel, and Daegan.
I quickly started this one after finishing book 2, because I wanted to know what was going to happen next with the trio. And I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it was written from Daegan’s point of view.
I do have to admit that that fact is what made this book so much better for me than the previous book. We were finally able to understand what is going on in Samuel and Daegan’s heads. Which does make their relationship with Brenna seem much better than the way it was portrayed in the first book.
This book had a lot more violence than the first book, but I do think that that is in part because of it being told from Daegan. Whereas they were trying to protect Brenna, in this book Daegan was in the middle of everything, and so we got to find out more about the Berserker’s and how their relationships with each other work.
Overall – I was extremely pleased with this book and can’t wait to read more in the future.
