Wulf knows Yakira is his soul mate. The only person he needs to convince is her, but with intergalactic terrorists on Yakira’s trail, there’s little time for romance. What’s a hot-blooded Coletti warlord to do?
Yakira feels safe and cherished with Wulf, but he is a Coletti; the ultimate predator with a taste for blood, a passion for battle and the need to control everything in his life. The big question is; how does she make Wulf understand she’s a powerful psychic with kick-ass bionic limbs and quite capable of taking care of herself?
I cannot tell you how many times I laughed out loud while reading this delightful book! It was fast paced fun from beginning to end. Wulf had no chance of taming Yakira. As a sci-fi romance this had everything I look for. Alien people who are truly alien in appearance and behavior, action and adventure, and bonus points for making me laugh and feel good. Normally I get irked when there isn’t much internal thought but here, the way the dialogue and actions were written, I didn’t miss the asides. I could follow along with what the hero and heroine were feeling easily enough.
The pace of the story is fast but I was never lost or didn’t know what was going on. There were many different species as players and I could visualize what they looked and felt like. I really enjoyed Yakira. She was strong and plucky, keeping Wulf on his toes, not giving up when he kept insisting that he would protect her when she was plenty capable. Yakira and her family were a menace, but in a heart of gold way. This is the sixth book in the Coletti Warlords series. I haven’t read any of the other books in the series (or by this author before) and I wasn’t lost, so I would say this can be read as a standalone. I will definitely be checking the rest of the series out!!
