Don’t discount the mystic powers in the world…
Casey has spent most of his adult life building a successful business. His mother has been on him to settle down with a good man. Casey would, but he hasn’t had time to look for one. On his fortieth birthday, he goes out with friends and gets drunk—and has one too many.
When he wakes up in the morning, there’s a sexy, strange man in his home and a new, kind of painful tattoo on Casey’s chest. He doesn’t remember what happened the night before, but it doesn’t take him long to realize that the stranger, Ed, is someone he wants to get to know much better.
This was a cute short story about Casey who turned forty. He goes out with friends to celebrate and has “one too many”, waking up with a hangover, a stranger in his house, and a tattoo on his chest.
Ed was cute and endearing. Although I would’ve thought an Uber driver staying over like that to be a bit creepy, the situation worked with how it was explained. Casey was instantly attracted and wanted Ed to stay for smexy times. Ed likes Casey. He spent the night driving Casey around and listening to Casey’s drunken yammering, but he wants more than a one night stand and entices Casey to see him again instead.
This was a quick read. Casey and Ed getting to know each other was adorable. They each struggled with their own little demons. The mystic part of the tattoo isn’t revealed until the end and I would’ve like to see more of that threaded throughout the story. All in all, this was an enjoyable read with a satisfying ending.
