A Skylight Mirror by Q.K. Carpenter @qk_carpenter #mf #review

Law student Marisol Clay has met a fascinating stranger: Randal. He’s handsome, rich, scarred, and with a penthouse full of kinky secrets ready to be uncovered. With Mari’s sister arrested for burglary, he’s the perfect distraction.

Or he would be, if Mari’s sister hadn’t stolen from him.

Now Marisol is torn between her lover and her family, her desires and her duties, her belief in justice and how justice actually unfolds. She wants to make the right choice, but as she learns that Randal has secrets more dangerous than ropes and blindfolds, the right choice just might get her killed.

I have to admit, that I went into this book with low expectations. Sounds bad I know, but I wasn’t really 100% sold when I read the blurb.  But literally once I started the book, I just couldn’t put it down.

This book has a little bit of everything in it, but it was done in a way that kept my attention and left me wanting for more.  There’s BDSM in it, but not so much that readers who don’t like BDSM will be turned away.  It has the smut factor, but not an overload of it.  There’s the mystery/suspense part, that kept me turning the pages and wanting to know — no NEEDING to know — what was going to happen next.

Mari was a complete trip. I loved how she seemed to be putting her foot in her mouth but without meaning too. And doing it with the best of intentions. I just loved her.

Randal was a great character as well.  Sure, he was a billionaire, but he didn’t act like it.  He wasn’t all “The world must all bow at my feet”.  Which I did love because it’s so not normal for book billionaires.

This was literally the best book that I have read in the past 2 years, and I can’t recommend it enough!  Seriously, try this book out because it’s just great!
