Jace groaned into her mouth, and didn’t that light a fire in her blood? Sara wound her arms around his neck and pressed close. He lifted her off her feet and set her on the cold railing, nudging her knees apart to stand between her thighs. And still that amazing kiss went on, while the proof of his arousal hit her in just the right spot. She could feel the heat even through his jeans and hers. She wanted the clothes gone and the two of them alone, anywhere but here outside this honky-tonk in the frigid air where anyone could interrupt them.
He ended it at last, breaking off to trail hot kisses down her throat.
“I take it back. I haven’t been waiting for this just tonight. I’ve wanted this since the day I met you.”
“What the hell took you so long?” She hooked her hands around his broad shoulders and pulled his warmth closer.
“Damned if I know.”
He kissed her again, his taste like desire on her tongue. He rocked against her, his hand at her back to press her closer, and flames shot through her core. She shuddered, barely able to breathe. If this went on, she was going to lose it right here and now.
She pulled back, shaking her head. “We have to stop.” Just for now.
“Shit, sorry.” He took a deep breath, backed up a little. “Not sure what I was thinking.”
“Well, I hope you were thinking you wanted to be with me, ’cuz that’s sure what I was thinking.” She smiled. “Still thinking it.” Home. Let’s go home.
He traced her collarbone with rough fingers. “Oh, hell, yes, I want to be with you, honey. And not just for one night.”
Her heart thumped so hard she could feel it in her bones. She’d watched him and wanted him for so long. This was really happening. That sexy old song ran through her head—At last . . .
“Sara?” His brow wrinkled. “Did I say something wrong?”
She threw her arms around him. “No. God, no! You said just the right thing, Jace. Just the perfect thing.”

Excerpt from THE SOLAR EXPRESS: AN ALIEN STEPBROTHER CHRISTMAS ROMANCE by ERIN HAYES
“But our people don’t even celebrate Charis-must!”
“It’s ‘Christmas’, Kear’yl. ‘Christmas’.”
On the other end of the line, I imagine my Chief Commander father—Op’pa in my native tongue—pinching the bridge of his wide nose in frustration. Mainly because I’m doing the exact same thing right now.
He continues chiding me, his voice irritated. “It’s what some humans do at the end of every year with their families—”
“I know what they do for Charis-must.” Even though I still can’t pronounce it right, no matter how many times I say it. Give me an obscure alien language from the far reaches of space and I can master it in a single Planck time. Learning human traditions, however, is another thing.
Then again, I may have a mental block due to one certain human.
“Look, just because you decide to go off and marry one of those human females,” I say, “that doesn’t mean that you have to expect me to play along with your Charis-must family time!”
“Jessica is your Zn’eppa, Kear’yl.” My father’s voice is low, dangerous. “You’ll treat her with respect.”
Zn’eppa. That’s what Earthlings call a “stepmother.” The human woman who married my proud Vzekian father. I don’t know what she did to ensnare him, but I’ve spent the last five years trying to avoid all humans at any cost.

Excerpt from ANGELO 13 by ROSALIE REDD
“I…didn’t hear you come in. How long have you been here?”
He leaned against the doorframe, his arms crossed. A slow smile tugged at his lips, and she focused on them. They were so tempting, and it was all she could do to pull her gaze to his eyes.
“Long enough to watch you make that…squirrel?”
A nervous laugh broke from her lips. “This is an ornithium, a small sub-surface dweller from our planet. The tiny creature comes above ground to retrieve nuts that fall from the trees during the season’s first frost. It is the good luck symbol for our winter celebration—Lintria, representing hope and love, for if this small animal can survive in the harshest of conditions, so can we.”
“I see. When is your next observance?” His calm demeanor called to her, sending a tingle of curiosity and excitement along her nerves.
“In a few days, when our sun is lowest in the horizon in the southern hemisphere. This special day is celebrated by everyone in our culture.” Her throat constricted. Not everyone. Toman was still in jail. If she didn’t return to get him out before the celebration, he’d observe the rite in the mines and never participate in another. I can’t think about that.
With a quick swallow, she focused her attention on the sexy man in front of her. “Thank you, again, for replacing the reactor.”
His gaze flicked to her mouth before returning to her eyes. The brown in his irises deepened.
Warmth spread between her thighs, and she bit her lip.
He took a step forward, closing the distance between them. “It was the least I could do, given you saved me from a long, cold, lonely journey through space.”
“Well, then, seems we’ve saved each other.”
