Thomas Harrigan can’t help but admire his sexy, single and openly gay boss, Clark Sterling. He never expects the gorgeous lawyer to be interested in him. But when Clark makes his interest shockingly clear, Thomas find himself involved in a passionate affair with the man he never dreamed he’d have a chance with.
Burned before by an office romance gone wrong, Clark knows he should keep his relationship with Thomas on a strictly business level. But there’s something disarmingly genuine about Thomas, and Clark can’t seem to resist.
The more time Thomas spends in Clark’s company and bed, the more he knows he is falling in love with his handsome boss. But when Thomas’s resume finds its way to a rival firm, owned by the very man who hurt Clark before, Clark is livid and cuts Thomas out of his life, and his firm.
Left unemployed and reeling, Thomas struggles to put the pieces of his life back together without the man who has captured his heart.
You know when you read a story and you think, wow that would have been great only if we had a little more drama? No, me either. Except this one time.
Thomas and Clark have so much going for them, and the insta- lust/love is spot on. But the stunt that Thomas ex-pulls throws a curve ball. And that was my issue.
Thomas confronts the ex, and the whole thing starts and then fizzles. And then the rest of the story just fell apart for me because that one scene just fell apart. But before that, the chase, the catch. The getting to know all worked.
And the end, the reconciliation. And HFN was nice, but I never could let go of that one scene.
