Playboy wolf shifter Wiley can’t duck out of his pack’s biggest annual event, despite knowing his grandmother has possible suitors lined up and waiting. Wiley has no intention of settling down, and the situation dangles just above disaster. Thankfully, Wiley’s best friend, lion shifter Ram, agrees to pose as Wiley’s boyfriend for the weekend.
They find out fate has other plans when they kiss on a dare, and the passion erupts, so hot and intense they fear the couch may spontaneously combust beneath them. Neither man is able to push the small act of affection from his mind, but both struggle with uncertainty and the ramifications of following where their libidos lead.
In a world where shifters are normal, two best friends have a weekend together and notice for the first time, they are the whole package.
This quick read about 130 pages on my nook, I found it quick because the story was so engaging, has two BFF going into the wolf’s den as it were for the weekend and coming out, confused, scared, loved.
Wiley and Ram play for the same baseball team and have been BFF for a while. Although they never have crossed that sexual line. Until Wiley asks Ram to be the fake boyfriend for the weekend.
What I enjoyed about this is that these two already knew each other so we concentrated on the relationship part, them coming to terms with being mated. Ram understanding that Wiley can love him, be just with him, want just him.
And Wiley, having the patients and precedence to keep going after the one he wants.
Even though this is a baseball themed book we really concentrate on the couple, the family and little on the sport.
We do get a wrapped up HEA ending, though
