Old friends and business partners, Maitland Carter and Lenny Fritz, may not be the two sharpest pickle forks in the picnic basket, but they have big hearts. And they are just now coming around to the fact that maybe their hearts are caught in a bit of turmoil.
Diving headfirst into a whirlwind of animal mayhem, these two self-proclaimed pet detectives strive to earn a living, reunite a few poor lost creatures with their lonely owners, and hopefully not make complete twits of themselves in the process.
When they stumble onto a confusing crime involving venomous reptiles, which is rather unnerving since they’re more accustomed to dealing with misplaced puppy dogs and puddy tats, they take the plunge into becoming real-life crime stoppers.
It just amazes me how versatile John Inman is. From rolling in the aisles funny, to down right scary. He can do it all in spades.
This one is a laugh out loud funny. From two super horn dawg best friends that finally realized that true love was right there the whole time.
To a foul mouth bird, a gerbil with a set of nuts and an old friend that decides to grace us with an cameo appearance!
What I really loved about this book, is that the two MC already had an established relationship. Be it friendship with benefits on the side or one with love just bubbling under the surface. We got to spend more in the story, learning and less finding out if they are a good match. That was a great change of pace.
I really loved how we got several ‘pet’ stories to follow even though the book is based around one main plot.
Hope we get to see these two in action again saving from animals.
