Penny is finally ready to say yes all the way, but married life doesn’t start off as expected. While the attraction between her and Carter is deepening, Penny still struggles to adjust to her new life full of luxury and new responsibilities. Carter continues to keep secrets for a cause, and shares only reluctantly with her wife. Can they overcome those differences, and who’s going to surrender this time?
If you haven’t read book 1 in the series, then I would suggest that you read it prior to this one. While the author does a good job at rehashing what happened in book 1, I think that by reading it yourself then you get fully into the story!
This book continues right from book 1 and I really enjoyed how we are able to follow along with the relationship that is forming between Penny and Carter. It was great because this is the time frame where they are really spending time getting to know each other — without the distractions that they had in book 1.
Obviously the wedding happens in this book (you can tell that from the blurb!) and I must say, it was an amazing wedding!
I really enjoyed how Penny was having difficulties in adapting to a “new life” but that goes to show that she wasn’t a gold-digger or wanting anything besides Carter.
Also with the first book, there is a bit of suspense that kept me wondering just what was going to happen next, and how things were going to turn out for Penny and Carter. I loved how Carter is slowly revealing her secrets, because it’s not an automatic thing by any means. She didn’t fall in love and then start sharing everything.
Overall, I did love this book and can’t wait for the next in the series!
