In a future where man’s ability to reproduce is severely compromised, humanity has adapted to survive. Breeders—male and female—have become precious commodities, and they are strictly guarded and subject to limitations.
Luca Walker is a breeder. Though he knows what’s expected of him as the youngest son of the Northern Confederacy’s vice president, he’s held out against the pressures of an arranged marriage because he longs to marry for love, not duty. But he’s been promised to Colonel Liam Smith and there’s little he can do about it, no matter that Luca is secretly in love with his bodyguard, Marcus Gray.
When Luca finds himself pregnant with Marcus’s baby, Smith is furious and vows to take what is his—by force, if necessary. Now Luca must fight for his life and the life of his unborn child… as well as the love of Marcus and the happily ever after he’s always dreamed of.
I couldn’t stop reading.
I’ve read a lot of mpreg and this one has such an unusually twist, bringing old America to modern thinking, or has it?
Luca was born a breeder, but lucky for him he was born in the north where breeders are cherished. Even though they still don’t have many rights. However. he was born into a very privileged family, so he’s been groom and cuddled most of his life. Now at twenty-three he must marry to reproduce.
Liam, has been chosen has the suitor, problem is Luca has fallen in love with his bodyguard.
This story leads us on a North v’s South modern day take with Luca and Marcus right in the thick of things.
But we have more going on then meets the eye, Liam has an agenda that isn’t first known but is understood when brought to light.
We’ve a lot of players in this book, but the author does an fabulous given us enough page time with Luca and Marcus so we can learn then has people first then a couple. As well us getting to know everyone else.
Even though we are given our HEA for these two, we have enough lose ends that I hope we get to see everyone again, maybe Liam and Kyle will get one?
