Stardust of Yesterday

Inheriting a castle–and a ghost to go with it–Genevieve Buchanan finds herself falling in love with the spectre of Kendrick de Piaget, an arrogant thirteenth-century knight.addtogoodreads_zps55cd15da16A-nony-mouseTAG

Another wonderful de Piaget book by Lynn Kurland. I wondered after reading Phillip’s story in Stars in Your Eyes, if I would get to read Kendrick’s… only to find it online. I think I squealed… Don’t tell anyone.

Kendrick’s story is a bit different than so many of her time travel novels. Kendrick doesn’t jump time. He’s murdered in 1260 and haunts the castle that was supposed to be his for over seven hundred years. When the newest owner of the castle, Genevieve, takes residence, he plans on scaring her and getting her to sign the castle over to him. Only…she won’t scare off. And the more he gets to know her, the less he wants to scare her off.

I adored their relationship. But my favorite character? His butler. The man could not be shaken at all, though I guess considering he grew up around a ghost, that would be natural.

A definite read in the de Piaget series.

And I will admit to being slightly warry when I saw that Ilyana Kadushin was narrating it as when I think of her, I think of another series, and that voice just would not have worked. I needn’t have worried. She does the voices wonderfully, has fantastic accents, and I lost myself in the story.

5 stars all the way around.
