Kevin Bivanti’s dream is to open a wedding dress shop, a place with the stunning gowns to make every bride-to-be feel adored. At thirty-eight, he quits a successful advertising career to buy an old brownstone in a trendy Boston neighborhood and to make his dream a reality. When one of his cosigners drops out, fate intervenes, ushering in Casper James, who hopes to open his own bakery. With Casper willing to take the risk, their ambitions meld into a wedding dress and wedding cake boutique.

Extensive renovations to the brownstone, an affair with his ex-husband, family drama with his mothers, and the anxiety of significant life changes push Kevin to the brink of a nervous breakdown. In the midst of stress and uncertainty, Casper becomes more than a business partner, a mutual attraction that adds another layer of intensity and risk.

With their dreams on the verge of reality, Kevin and Casper must find the courage to face the stress of managing their attraction, the gamble of a new business venture, and the resurgence of Kevin’s personal demons. addtogoodreads_zps55cd15da16Listening to Andrea LeeTAG

Can I just say, I’ve read one book by Mr. Witt and listen to one and he’s one of the few authors I can do both ways. He’s brilliant both!

The second thing I have to say is I know nothing about this subject, not just wedding dresses, baking, opening a shop. But the underline current of the book. And from what I read in the very back passage, this is based on someone’s real life experiences? If so, good on them for finally getting the help they clearly needed for years. But throughout the whole book, I kept thinking how? How is this possible? This kid/teenager, first didn’t die? Then went through a marriage? Big family that’s all up in his businesses and no one knew. How?

But putting all that aside, the story was brilliantly written, the characters are flawless, even with the flaws.

Casper knowing he is so smitten, but with he’s own demons knows to stay back. Kevin so many issue’s but has a single focus that has kept him going. Even Scott, the ex. Finally letting Kevin see the truth.

The secondary cast, which really holds the story together, the mothers. The Uncle. The friends. All so important.

And when Casper is finally able to get Kevin to see ‘him’ just heart warming and breaking.

Wonderful HEA, of course.
