Wrecked

He’s driving her crazy…

Piper West is finally on her own, and it’s time to get crazy. Except that her overprotective big bro has enlisted his ex-cop best friend to keep an eye on his baby sister. With every move monitored and reported back, Piper’s life has gone from “going crazy” to “being driven crazy.” But a searing-hot kiss with her sexy and scarred watchdog is just the game-changer she needs…

Cole Black owes Piper’s brother big-time, but there’s nothing easy about his new assignment. Piper is all feisty sexiness and curves meant to tempt a man beyond reason, and Cole can’t stop himself. Now he’s caught up in a hunger like nothing he’s ever known, and he can’t get enough…

Even if Piper’s the one girl he’s not allowed to have.

Cole was injured in a serious accident that left him with facial scarring and a limp. He has tried to push Piper away because he feels like he isn’t good enough as a “damaged” man. Piper has been in love with Cole since she was a teenager, but he has pushed her away and she doesn’t know why. Now that her brother, Deke, and her friends are all married and coupled off, Deke asks Cole to move into the garage apartment on Piper’s property to keep an eye on her and protect her. Little do they know that someone has been threatening her because they want to buy the cottage and garage business.

I went into this story thinking it would be just like any other story where the hero falls for his best friend’s sister. While that is the theme of their relationship, it is not all that pushes this story. Piper is so sweet and caring. She likes to fix everything…cars, people, etc. Cole is vulnerable after his accident and has such low self-esteem, so Piper can’t help but want to make him feel like the man he really is.

As the third book in a series, Wrecked reads well as a stand-alone. My heart ached for Cole and all that he has been through. Piper is everything he needs and is the only one that can push through his barriers and help him. These two together are everything good and everything each other needs. I can’t get enough of them! I love how strong Piper is, and it seems as though the other women in the series are, too. They won’t let their men push them around, but they can be vulnerable with them and show them their feminine side without appearing weak.

This was a great story and I really want to go back and read the rest of the series to see if they are as good as this book.
