He knows how to score, on and off the ice
Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she’s going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.
It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over
Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.
Just like the previous book in this series, The Score can be inhaled in one sitting. Allie and Dean are featured in this installment of the series. Dean is a man-whore and sleeps around with any girl willing to look his way. Allie is Hannah’s best friend and she catches the eye of the illustrious Dean when she sleeps over at the house. Dean turns into typical Dean – putting the moves on her, but she sees right through him and stops the lothario in his tracks. But, Dean puts up a good fight and breaks the barrier Allie put up and she becomes hooked.
I enjoyed that this couple did not fall into insta-love with each other and understood that they only wanted sex…lots of good sex. Of course, they eventually develop feelings for each other. But, it grew and was organic and not rushed into like some other couples have been. Also, I really enjoyed the banter between these two (as well as between the other characters within the story). I laughed out loud. A lot. Another plus to the story is seeing where past characters are and what they have accomplished now that graduation has arrived.
I enjoyed reading this story and think any fan of NA will enjoy it, too.
