Never get between a reformed rake and his lover.
London Legal, Book 2
Three months ago, Leopold Thornton gave up his old, indulgent lifestyle to follow the man he loves to London. But now that he and Arthur Barrington have settled down, doubts are creeping in.
Arthur is spending more and more time at his law office—with a handsome new secretary. And Arthur’s ex-lover wants him back. Desperate not to lose Arthur, Leopold resorts to the only trick he knows to convince him to stay—pleasure.
Arthur knew that life with Leopold would never be boring. But recently their evenings—and afternoons and mornings—have become decidedly more vigorous. Being with Leopold is amazing, but juggling demanding clients and a demanding lover leaves Arthur exhausted and worried perhaps he and Leopold aren’t suited after all.
As business keeps Arthur later and later at the office, Leopold’s demons begin to haunt him again. To heal their rift, Arthur will have to let go of his own past—and pull his lover back from the brink.
Warning: Includes a reformed bad boy who discovers a jealous streak, a solicitor who isn’t always so conservative, explicit male/male scenes in a variety of locations, a complete lack of inhibitions, and a generous heaping of angst.
Note – I read the first one before reading this one. And if you haven’t I would suggest you do, it just would make more scene.
It’s no secret I love Ava March;s work…. all of her work…. but for some strange reason I’d never read these before?! Bad stalker fan….
Back story, Arthur and Leopold met very briefly ten yrs prior, had a drink, Arthur leaves, Leopold gets up the courage to approach Arthur but finds it’s too late. Arthur has fell in with someone. Ten yrs later, Arthur and said someone are now parting ways.
During this time Leopold has never forgotten his love for Arthur and decides to jump on the chance before he loses it again….awwww….. how romantic!
Problem is to drown his sorrow, he has become the worst of rakes, bedding and drinking almost every night. So to convenes Arthur he’s changed will take a lot. But he’s willing.
Arthur, for the last ten yrs has given his time and heart to a man he knew didn’t love him but thought at least had fondness for him. But to find out in one evening it was all to just pass the time. He’s heart sore. To get over this he decides to take up for the weekend with none other than the worst rake in town.
Oh my, could we have a story about two more star crossed lovers. Even after they get together, neither one is really sure about the other. Leopold is so frightened that he will never be enough, while Arthur works so much he’s not seeing the damage until it’s too late. Arthur always wondering is Leopold will fall back to his old ways.
Not much of a secondary cast here, these two are enough to capture you, your heart and the story.
