According to legend, when humankind is at its most desperate, the goddess Sirius will send three of the most powerful werewolf shifters ever created to save mankind. However, because they are so powerful, they will need a fourth to complete them, to calm them and help them reach their full potential.

Aden, a young were, has been his pack’s omega ever since, at the age of fifteen, he didn’t shift like everyone else. Caught, reviled, and tortured because of his empathic abilities, he knew on the night he was told to run as sport for the pack hunters that it would end in his death. What he didn’t know, however, was that on the same night he’d also meet the love of his life and a pathway to answers, because Aden is far more than just a pack omega.

What begins as a hunt soon becomes a new adventure as Aden discovers that he has not only one, but three destined mates, and his role as lover is far more than trivial. The fate of all humankind rests upon it. addtogoodreads_zps55cd15da16 Listening to Andrea LeeTAG

I heard so many wonderful things about this book and series, in fact it was just awarded some high marks in the Rainbow awards. And over all it was a fine book, an unique take on shifters, the lore, mpreg, and multi partners.

My issues were, and this my review, that I like a little more ‘wolf’ (or whatever animal) in my shifter book. Also, even though we had multi partners, the sexual chemistry left me blah. I didn’t feel any connection happening between any of the four men, during the ‘bedding’. I’m not looking for a sexcapade, far from it, but a connection for sure. However, I did enjoy the times that Blaze would man handle Aden and cuddle him in his lap.

I also loved that each one, Conner, Darric, Blaze all had an unique gift and a part to play in the lore. The way they played off each other, like a well oiled machine. Aden, his life was so tragic, but something inside of him wants to live. Until the ultimate betrayal. That shakes  all four of them to the core.

Finally at the end we are left with a cliffy of the mpreg.

Broken Circle Disclaimer MaleTAG

Blaze, the most powerful werewolf on the planet has found his omega, Aden. Together with Conner and Darric they finally become true mates, fulfilling an ancient prophecy by the goddess Sirius and forming Orion’s Circle. The battle against the terrorist group, the Winter Circle, has begun.

Blaze, however, is fighting his own battle. Aden is due to birth a child, and despite Blaze’s six hundred years of being an Alpha, nothing has prepared him for his hardest challenge yet — how to become a father. His struggles are hurting the people he loves the most and threatening their bond.

The madman who kidnapped and tortured Aden still hasn’t been caught, and when the worst happens and their circle is broken, Blaze has to fight his biggest threat yet – his own inner weakness – an enemy against which his Alpha strength will be useless. Blaze has to learn that true strength is only found in forgiveness, and sometimes the most powerful weapon is love. addtogoodreads_zps55cd15da16 Listening to Andrea LeeTAG

Okay, I’m not sure how long people had to wait for book one and two to come out. I was lucky and was able to read back to back. The downside to that was the first 30 pages or so when the recap kept happening, it became very annoying.

And while I’m on it, the points that bothered me, the mpreg, first book, we were weeks along, second book Aden in labor. No explanation, no happy times watching it grow, disappointing.  We did get a couple of past references about cravings and such. But to me, I like to know things, I want emotions, and in this regard, they were missing. The other ‘no’ for me is death of a main character. Never been a fan, and this one didn’t change my mind. These and other points really made me not like this book

The positives, I enjoyed how Aden became more comfortable in his skin and with the people around him. How we got deeper into the story of Sirius and the what, whens, hows, of linking the humans and wolves together. The teaming of packs to make this happen. We’ve a lot of players but it’s very easy to keep up and keep track.

I also liked that we got to ‘meet’ the circle, Blaze, Conner and Darric had more personality in this one, we really got to see the strength and weaknesses of each.

And again we are left with another cliffy pregnancy.

You do realise that this series have 3 books, right?
So the story is not concluded on book 2, but on book 3 (not mentioned on this review)…
It would be good if you would complete the series, because there’s a reason for everything that happened on book 1 and 2, and that’s on book 3.
So, I’m sorry, but your review is incomplete…
And I really don’t get that you didn’t feel any emotion on these books. I had my heart in my throat the whole time while reading this series. Maybe since you’re “not a fan” as you said, you already started it focused in not liking?

I think there is probably a reason you have heard so many good things about this series…..that would be because it is a fantastic series.the key word here being ‘series’.You do realise this is a series of four at the moment??…with more to follow I believe.I find it a little unfair to post reviews when you are not up to date with the series so far.By doing so,you are doing both the author and readers of these reviews a great disservice.I have read all four books so far,and yes,no book is going to be perfect in every way,for every reader, but at least do the author the honour of reading all the current books in the series before reviewing in what is,after all supposed to be a ‘series spotlight’.
