*Stumbles in with New Year’s Hat askew and fizzling Alka-Seltzer in a high ball glass*
So. Hi there. By the time you read this, I’m certain that we…
*Searches around until spotting the snoring pile of sofa cushions.*
*Carefully unstacks the cushions to reveal a face-planted AF Henley in a neon pink tux with lime green trim, missing tophat, and an empty champagne glass clutched in one fist*
Tried to make a pillow fort, didn’t you?
AF HENLEY: *zzzzSNERK* Smillow smorts are so smucking sauceum…
Oh boy. Well.
*Gently puts Henley’s head on one of the cushions*
As I was saying, by the time you read this, we will have no doubt recovered from bringing in 2016 in some (questionable) style.
Also by the time you read this I should, all things willing, be well into edits on the up-and-coming New Amsterdam novel, Earthquakes: A New Amsterdam Story. It’s been in the works for quite some time, and I’m really excited about it.
I know, I know, this hangover doesn’t make me SOUND very excited, but I swear, Jesus could offer me a billion dollars right now and this would be my face.
AF Henley: Jesus? Is he here? Did he get the invite?
*Reaches down to push Henley’s head back onto the pillow. Snoring resumes.*
In honor of the next story coming out, I thought I’d share with you information about the world, the stories that are out there, and some of my favorite free reads and snippets!
Let’s see… Let’s start with the basics…
WELCOME TO NEW AMSTERDAM
…where kinky is totally in the water.
It’s the NYC landscape, Chicago’s political machine, and Gotham’s darkness. Murder, mayhem, intrigue, and intimacy are the stock in trade on these city streets, and rarely is anything exactly what it seems.
The tale begins with Maxwell Clark and Daniel Germain in Hearts Under Fire, continues in “The New Deal,” follows Lucian Gray and his entire vigilante team in Winter’s Knight, expands to different parts of the city in “Luck in the Making,” and stops by the shooting range to get better acquainted with Ellis Parker and Clark in Shot in the Dark.
Try some free reads, found here:
And don’t forget to check out “Deathwish,” which is totally one of my favorites:
If you want to own a piece of this world, check out the titles here:
And keep your eyes peeled for a story about a certain ex-military boy named Ellis and a troubled ballet boy named Bryn.
Until next time… stay safe, everyone!
AF HENLEY: *raises glass from floor*
*Pours some of the fizzy water into the glass*
