Boomer Steele is big. He’s bad. He’s the Retribution MC pres. He’s been dealt the worst hand imaginable and bears the scars inside and out. Not that anyone knows it. He’s watched his younger brother and sister hook up and hitch up with the loves of their lives, and now he’s the last Steele standing alone. Maybe he should keep it that way.
Then one feisty honey makes him feel, gets in his grill, pisses him off.
She goes by the name of Rayce. And that’s exactly what she does on her motocross bike when she’s not busy getting her hands dirty with her fellow grease monkeys as the only female mechanic at Stone’s Garage. She’s into fixing bikes, racing hers, and making Boomer’s life a living hell just for the fun of it. Oh, and she hates being treated like a girl.
Sparks flying? That’s an understatement where these two are concerned. Yet when Rayce needs a place to live, and Boomer offers her a room in his house, their unquenchable attraction wins out over antagonism. Sometimes. Rayce’s crappy upbringing makes her think love is for stupid fools asking for heartbreak. She’s not willing to go there for any man. Not even Boomer Steele.
I adore all of the sexy men of the Retribution MC and love reading about the trouble they find. Boomer is the MC Prez and has watched everyone else find happiness with a woman – everyone except himself. He can’t keep his eyes, thoughts, or hands off of the sexy Wrench Wench, Rayce. She is one of Sadie’s girls and is all Boomer can think of. Rayce comes with a lot of baggage, plus she does not want a series relationship. Boomer wants to protect her and keep her safe from her demons.
Boomer Steele is not the kind of guy you associate with love. Sex? Yes! But, not the mushy, family comes first, play with the kids, kind of feelings. Yet, that is exactly what he is and he wants a family of his own now that his brother and sister are each expanding their families. He has to be strong as the President of the club, but deep down he is a teddy bear of a man. The only different is that his heart is protected by a thick layer of steel because of his commitment to the club. So when Rayce comes into his sights, he opens up his heart wide for the ornery woman. I absolutely loved how she goaded him each time she saw him. She wasn’t afraid to banter back and forth with the scary MC Prez like some others. Yes, he gets respect because of his position, but Rayce is her own woman and doesn’t cow to anyone. But, she isn’t as strong in her personal life and thinks she isn’t good enough for Boomer. They go through a LOT before he finally convinces her that she is everything he has ever wanted and everything he will ever need. (*swoon*)
I can’t even begin to explain how much I LOVE this book, this MC Club, but most of all this author! Rie Warren has been added to my “must buy” list for each and every books she releases.
