The crash of Flight HA1710 brings life into focus for Phil Stewart. Before meeting Davin Tierney, love seemed only a myth to Phil, but one night in New York City changed everything, giving him something he didn’t even know existed. But Phil wasn’t comfortable saying I love you. During the crash, Davin suffers a brain injury, leaving him in a coma. Phil wonders how love can be so cruel to give him Davin and then take him away so suddenly.
Davin never intended to give Phil a second look, but Phil broke through barriers and made amazing overtures before stalling on the word love. The crash changes everything, and he’s no longer willing to play it safe, but can Phil actually change from the playboy Davin first met?
Velocity is the second book in the M/M Series, Flight HA1710. Each book focuses on a different survivor from the same plane crash and each book is written by a different author. Since I read the first book, and loved it, and I’m a fan of this author, I was really looking forward to this story.
Phil Stewart wakes up in the hospital the day after the crash and is immediately concerned about Davin Tierney. The authorities have no idea who Davin is or if he survived, until he is tracked down at another hospital, to the relief of Phil. Through a series of flashbacks, Phil visits how he met Davin and what it took to get to his feelings for the man, today.
Phil is a player. He parties hard and hooks up with any man he meets while out at the clubs. Davin catches his eye and Phil is instantly attracted to the man. Davin isn’t interested in the kind of fun Phil is known for, but Phil feels something he has never felt before and promises to stop his playing ways. The men get to know each other by talking and messaging each other over the period of a year, until Phil surprises Davin with the news that he is moving to be near Davin. He promises to commit to Davin, but can’t put his exact feelings into words.
Phil holds a lot of regrets about not telling Davin how much he loves him before they got on the plane. The story is so full of angst and deep feelings that kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire book. There some sexy scenes, too, but the majority of the story tugs at the heartstrings. This is such a fantastic book within this amazing series. Anyone that enjoys m/m should pick it up!
