Twins Blake and Bianca Dunlap have always been there for each other, ready to lend support and make sacrifices. Blake can’t imagine a bigger sacrifice than getting along with Bianca’s fiancé, Matt. However, Matt turns out to be more than the meathead Blake had dismissed him as, but Matt’s best friend, Ryan Everett, is a different story. Ryan seems intent on being an insufferable jerk as often as possible. The fact that Blake is undeniably attracted to Ryan only makes the whole situation more annoying.
Since they’ll all be stuck together for the long haul, Blake is determined to make nice. Unfortunately he overshoots, and he and Ryan end up on much friendlier terms than Blake intended. While he and Ryan agree there’s no harm in having a strings-free fling, that changes when Matt and Bianca find out about it. As more complications arise, Blake and Ryan become more determined to do what it takes to avoid letting them down. But the only way to ensure getting through a joyous wedding and avoid the questions neither of them want to answer is to convince everyone it’s something more.
My first book/audio by this author and it was just amazing!
There are four main charaters in this story and they all play very well off each other. Blake and Bianca twins and best friends, live with each other share everything until Bianca meets Matt and things turn serious. More so then she lets on.
Blake has done serious and was burned more deeply then he has let on and is not sure how to be himself or make someone happy with out losing himself again. So he refuses to try.
Matt and Ryan have been friends since just about diapers, and will do anything for each other. So when Matt brings a new girl around Ryan straighten up. Only to realize that every time he sees Blake he can’t stop from making an ass out of himself.
The secondary cast complements the story just perfect. The older, wiser siblings, the goofy friends. The loving parents.
I love the way Blake and Ryan trip over each other, and yet can’t keep there hands off each other. Talk about love/hate/love/love. And clueless all rolled into one. Matt and Bianca are just so sweet on each other you hope in real life a couple like that will find each other and beat the odds.
The ups and downs we go through with these charaters had me sitting in the parking lot of my job long after I’d arrived to work just listening to five more minutes.
The narration by Michael Ferraiuolo was perfect for this. He nailed all the parts, men, woman, children, under stress, happy, sad and excited. Couldn’t have picked a better voice.
