Sumeria’s Sons Series Spotlight 2

A Lycan descendant of Gilgamesh and Enkidu, Tristan is not as extraordinary as his ancestors. He is an average warrior, unremarkable throughout. But this fact does not trouble him because he has found his Twin Flame, the one person destined to be his, who will love him unconditionally, life after life. Then his Flame betrays him, leaving him shattered and dying. Brokenhearted, Tristan dissolves the sacred bond and leaves. His best friend, Ushna, accompanies him, vowing to guard and protect him, and Tristan slowly comes to realize that love does not require a sacred bond. But if he hopes to keep the love he chooses, they will first have to survive ancient secrets, lies, mythical creatures, and the return of absent gods…

What an amazing read! So I have to be honest, I’ve had the book for forever. And I’ve not read it because of the cover (sorry, Lexi) I’m a cover snob and this one does nothing for me. Then boss lady calls me one Sat and says book three is coming out do I want? So I read 20pages and call her back, YES!!!!! That Sunday, I sit down to read book one, and I don’t get up until I’m done.

The heart breaking scene at the beginning with Tristan, the way Theo is devastated by the way he’s caused this pain but Tristan stands by he’s decision. The conviction in Ushna tone, that he will be his guardian. And that’s just the first chapter! And it doesn’t stop the fight scene in that alley the blood oath ceremony, even the chase through the woods, so intense. You can feel the emotion rolling off both of the MC’s for each other, as well as for their friends and family. Even the secondary people in the story have you sitting up and taking notice, Randy the foreman, he has a story I’m sure. The way everything is described you feel your right there, eating breakfast, dancing. It does leaving you with a cliffy, which I do not like, but I’m just happy I’ve book two waiting for me!

Thrust into the role of Prince of the Lycans, Tristan strives to find his footing in a life suddenly rife with secrets and lies—and danger. Betrayed by a Goddess meant to safeguard him, desperate to protect his consort and their growing tribe, he can only prepare for the worst and struggle to hope. And then the worst comes to kill them…

This is book two in the Sumerias Sons series and you must read in order.

So this one picks up exactly where we left the last one. Tristan and Ushna have settled into the new roles although not without some bumps along the way. More and more people want to join the tribe so they are expanding the Ranch and looking for housing in the immediate area. Nathan and Nessie, Tristan’s brother and sister have shown up and are helping with everything. With Tristan’s new condition Ushna is being very protective and Tristan is making everyone jumpy. We find out more about Tristan’s past and possibly the role that he will play in the future. We also are revisited by an old enemy that everyone thought was dead. Even the Old Twin Flame and his children and mate make an appearance. We are also given more details about the God’s, Goddess and how it all became. I did find that a little confusing, only because of all the unique names. This book is a plot building one, no real new players but more information coming out about the ones we have and some thoughts on which they really are, Randy? And what roles they will play.

For Tristan and Ushna, nothing comes easy and with each passing day the challenges grow and the dangers multiply. The safe home they are building for their family and tribe is threatened from all sides, and the peace they seek is being torn apart by enemies and internal strife. Tristan dares not reveal his condition to any but those closest to him, all the while he’s plagued by dreams he cannot remember upon waking…And over all of it hangs the knowledge that his time with Ushna is running out. Because Ushna already has a Flame awaiting rebirth, and though Tristan would die to protect that bond, he constantly struggles against his beast who demands they bind Ushna to their side.

This is book three in the series and they all should be read in order.

This book is countdown to the births of the babies as well as figuring out more puzzle pieces. We had more people arrive at the ranch and by mistake attach Randy. In this confusion we found out whom Randy really is and that his Twin Flame is one of the children that were rescued from Daniel. We also get back stories about Jory and Stan. And why Gregori is so mad at them. The connection between all of these people is amazing and so well written. The fact that we get history from when it all began; why people are trying to stop it is an added bonus. The way that everyone is working together to make into a commune for common goals, protect and serve. The only thing I didn’t like is once again we are left with a cliffy, but this time I don’t have the next book and can’t figure out when its due out.
