This is book three in the Firehouse 6 series, and where it’s not necessary to read in order I would to really get to know everyone.
Simon, the pint size young thing that has been after his boss, now ex-boss Michael for a few years but just hasn’t worked up the courage to say anything. And Michael, not in denial but knows he’s too old and it would be too complicated so just stays away. So far, this one is my favorite. I’m a sucker for the underdog. The guy who doesn’t think they are worthy enough and that is Simon. And when he finally tells his family and Michael, he is proven right, so sad. And Michael, such a tough outside shell but all he cares about is he’s guys and is devastated when they get hurt. These two are so good together and the guys around them just make for an amazing read.
Taber Delane is lucky be alive, but his career as a firefighter ended the day a beam snapped resulting in a crushing spinal injury. Most of his friends are willing to give him space, everyone except paramedic, Deacon Hall.
Deacon hasn’t met a challenge he couldn’t tackle and he knows Taber needs someone in his corner who isn’t afraid to stand up to the big bad fireman. The longer he’s around Taber, the more the sexy vulnerability of the man comes through. Deacon finds he doesn’t just want to be Taber’s live in caregiver, he wants a chance at the passionate man beneath the stubborn shell.
A shell that is cracking, no matter what Taber tries to hold it together. Without knowing how, Deacon being in his home starts to open his eyes to the man Deacon hides from the rest of the world and Taber craves to know more. A lot more.
This is book four of the Firehouse six series.
As we found out in book three, Taber was injured in a fire and is now in a wheel chair. After Taber has ran off all his other home health aid’s, and because of the friendship he and Deacon had formed in the hospital. Deacon has moved in and is helping him get settled into his new life. Even though we aren’t sure if this is a permitted injury Taber is adjusting well to the new situation, his only real concern is his feelings towards Deacon. Deacon is out and proud but Taber is not. These two MC’s work well together, both have secrets they would rather keep hidden but have found the attraction for each other is too much to resist. Even though, Deacon understands Taber side, you can feel the hurt. But when the ex shows up and Taber gets all Alpha male, watch out! The only thing that left me scratching my head was the end; I got the doc appt, and then the yes to the surgery. And then we jump to lockers and fire houses? So is Taber 100% even though that wasn’t really an option, or was that the shower after the job he was offered by Michael? Maybe book 5 will explain?
