Yogi and the Bear by Nix Knox

This was one of the more difficult books to rate. I wanted to love the story but the more I got into it, 300 pages total, the more I just lost interest not just with the characters but with the story itself. It seemed to turn into a how-to BDSM bring out my inner person (don’t want to say he had a mental disorder) First we start with Ryan and Nik, and I do enjoy these two, the easy banter, the protectiveness all works. But then Nik turns in Julian? And the clothes come off and plot goes away. And all the extra story lines that should have helped us define the main MC’s but just seemed that extra fluff. IDK, just didn’t work for me.

What started out as a really good beginning fizzled as it went on. Nik comes from a close minded family – his own parents wished horrific harm to him! He vows to live a life without sex, until a sexy encounter in a bathroom. Ryan is a construction worker who hurt his back on the job. Advised to take a yoga class, he finds his instructor, Nik, sexy and intriguing. Enter the sexy encounter mentioned above. Both of these men have trust issues which leads to them exploring their Dom/sub sides in the bedroom. Nik creates a different persona, Julian, when he is in Dom mode. LOVE THAT! Ryan enjoys the Dominant side of Nik and loves being tied up. Some of their scenes were sexy while others were tender.I really enjoyed the tenderness between these two men. Neither of them were really looking for love, but they found it in each other. While some of the story fell flat, for me, the banter between the characters is what kept me reading. Overall, it was an ok story that could have been better.
