Deep (Stage Dive #4) by Kylie Scott

Positive. With two little lines on a pregnancy test, everything in Lizzy Rollins’ ordinary life is about to change forever. And all because of one big mistake in Vegas with Ben Nicholson, the irresistibly sexy bass player for Stage Dive. So what if Ben’s the only man she’s ever met who can make her feel completely safe, cherished, and out of control with desire at the same time? Lizzy knows the gorgeous rock star isn’t looking for anything more permanent than a good time, no matter how much she wishes differently.Ben knows Lizzy is off limits. Completely and utterly. She’s his best friend’s little sister now, and no matter how hot the chemistry is between them, no matter how sweet and sexy she is, he’s not going to go there. But when Ben is forced to keep the one girl he’s always had a weakness for out of trouble in Sin City, he quickly learns that what happens in Vegas, doesn’t always stay there. Now he and Lizzie are connected in the deepest way possible… but will it lead to a connection of the heart?

This book was bittersweet for me. I couldn’t wait to read it and at the same time I was sad because I knew it was the last!

Lizzy is off limits to Ben, the bass player for Stage Dive. But that doesn’t stop them from sharing some unbelievably hot chemistry while in Las Vegas. The problem is that the one night is turning out to have some pretty big consequences, and they’re going to have to find a way to work out what is between them. Will they find love?

So, the best thing about this book is the chemistry between Lizzy and Ben. They want each other, can’t have each other, have each other and then OOPS! Well, life happens. The whole friends to more storyline is always a hit with me, and I think the author did a great job of building tension between these characters. Sure, I wanted to slap Ben upside the head a few times, but that just seems par for the course with the members of Stage Dive.

Lizzy is so awesome. She’s fun, funny and a girl who knows what she wants. I had a great time reading her story and I have to say that this may just be my favorite of the series. Mostly because of Ben. Oh, Ben. His transformation in this book is a great one, and part of what made the story so great for me to read. Sure, he was a big, fat jerk in parts but he more than makes up for it. You will love Ben.

As always, the writing of these books is fab. They’re funny and they flow effortlessly. I could not read this fast enough. But I will really miss these characters. 4 stars.

First of all, I am so sad that this is the last book in this series. I have fallen in love with each and every member of the band and their stories. Lizzie is the little sister-in-law of Mal. Ben is the drummer of Stage Dive and even though Lizzie is very interested in him, she is off limits. She won’t take no for an answer and finds a way to get closer to Ben by texting with him. They develop a close friendship which eventually leads to more in Vegas. Lizzie becomes pregnant and Ben wants to keep her as close to him as possible so he can keep an eye on her…so, she goes on the road with the band.
Ben’s protective nature over Lizzie is sweet and sexy. Even though he never wanted to be a father, he can’t help but want to keep Lizzie close so he know her and the baby are ok. Lizzie is full of sass and I LOVE that about her! She gives Ben a run for his money and keep the guy on his toes!
It was so much fun to see some of the other members of the band and their partners. Mal’s protectiveness of Lizzie is sweet and endearing. I love how he threatens Ben to stay away from his wife’s baby sister! Ben’s struggle to do the right thing by staying away and then owning up to his “mistake” is the kind of thing that makes his so loveable. Yes, he can be a total jerk, but what band member wouldn’t be?
While I’m sad to see this series end, Scott gave the readers a fantastic sendoff full of new story and old characters. I absolutely LOVED this book!

This is the end. The bittersweet and entertaining end to a book series that has garnered a number of loyal fans. I have enjoyed the series more than I can express. We first got to meet the men of Stage Dive through David and Ev’s sweet and emotional whirlwind romance. We laughed hysterically and cried with Mal’s story as he entertained us with his antics and romanced Anne. We crossed our fingers and held our breath for Jimmy while he pulled himself out of a dark hole and finally found his way to the light with the help of the confident Lena. Now we get to wish the men and women of Stage Dive goodbye and good luck while Ben tries to find himself and be the person Lizzy deserves and needs.

Lizzy is immediately attracted to Ben when they first meet. Girl fell head over heels in love and lust.

“Never before had just the sight of a man made me go so gaga. I couldn’t look away.”

However, Mal makes it perfectly clear that Lizzy is in the no go zone as far as Ben is concerned. Lizzy doesn’t care what zone Mal has designated her as. She’s determined to get to know the quiet giant so she begins texting Ben after snagging his number from Ev. The texts back and forth are innocent at first and completely adorable. Ben’s personality shines in his texts to Lizzy. We get a glimpse into the man who for so long locked himself away emotionally and hid in the background of the story. The friendship between the two becomes intense and eventually things reach a breaking point of lustful combustion and they end up in bed together after Mal and Anne’s Vegas nuptials. That moment of passion turns into something more than both bargained for when Lizzy finds out she’s pregnant.

Ben now has to do something he’s been avoiding most of his life, face the weight of all the emotions he’s been tucking away and let someone into his heart as well as his life. If he doesn’t he’ll end up losing the person who matters most to him and living the lonely life he’s convinced he deserves but doesn’t really want.

I adored Lizzy as much as I have adored every other woman of Stage Dive (well every woman except for Martha). She’s not afraid to let her feelings be known and she’s not afraid to stand up for herself and the ones she loves. The way she puts Martha in her place, not once but twice made me yell out HELL YEAH! Ben, I’m not sure how I feel about him. He still has some growing up to go through. It was great to see Jimmy in such a mature and happy place in his life. I have a whole new appreciation for Jimmy.

Kylie Scott delivers on giving fans of the Stage Dive Series an ending worthy of the characters we have all grown to love. It was a great story with a great ending for all.
