Mary Schmidt knows only too well how thrilling a Master’s touch can be. Herhusband, Charles, had been her ultimate fantasy, a seducer in the erotic dance of dominance and submission. He instantly knows that she’s the woman he’s been waiting for—a woman who turns games into need. As her Master, he dares to unlock the deepest pleasures of her flesh, releasing her from pain and healing her mind. When Mary’s lithe body comes to life under his, he knows their connection goes beyond sex. Now that he has found the perfect woman, the perfect partner, the perfect submissive, he desires only to give her everything she craves.
NOTE: Freed is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.
Once again I hit the jackpot with a book that was written with middle aged people as the main characters. The author did a fabulous job at proving age doesn’t kill the human need for intimacy, love and sex. I could relate to Mary from the beginning of the book as she struggles to find her purpose in this world with her kids grown and out of the house and dealing with being a widow. Not only was her husband the love of her life, he was her Dom.
Elliot is the sexy middle aged man who went through a divorce years ago and just never settled down yet he has no problem going to the club and play as a Dom. When an unexpected meeting at a mutual friend’s house brings him face to face with Mary, he instantly sees not only her beauty but her submissiveness. He inquires about her history but the friend won’t give him more than she is single leaving him with more questions than answers.
The author created a heartwarming story of Elliot trying to help Mary find her passion again while she struggles with the feelings of betraying her one Dom that died with her heart. Elliot’s patience and love held out till there just seemed to be no overcoming her fears, once he was willing to let go, it became up to Mary to decide if this was worth moving on.
I was so drawn into this story because of how well developed the plot and characters were. Usually with a BDSM story we are all reading things that we can never really understand unless we have experienced that life style. While I couldn’t say I related to the play scenes, I could understand Mary as she battled the flash backs of what her husband use to give her in the most intimate part of their lives. The memories of when she lost him and the struggle of understanding that moving on was not forgetting, it was just living again as her husband would want. This book comes with high recommendations from me, not only for the younger generation but especially for the middle aged and older who still love to believe in passion and second chances to find the right person to spend the rest of your life with.
