~A Contemporary Romance~
Professional bull rider Garrett Anderson lives for the next town, the next trophy and his next ride. When he rolls into Sheridan, Wyoming, the last thing he expected was to meet a cowboy like Cole—a man who corrals his heart and leaves him aching for the kind of love he’s been missing.
A bull tender on the PBR circuit Cole Richards secretly longs for a lover but wasn’t prepared for Garrett’s passion or the longing their one brief tryst kindles. After he is shot and recovering in his hospital bed, Cole can only watch Garrett’s disastrous ride afraid it could be his last. Heartbroken when the battered and bruised bull rider leaves town,
Cole knows better than to hope to see him again.
Attacked again and knee-deep in trouble, Cole wants only Garrett at his side. But can his bull rider trade fame and fortune for a lifetime with his one perfect ride?
This short started out with a bang, and ended with one as well. I can say that I was completely into this story as I progressed further into it.
I really liked Cole’s character; I think that the author did a really great job at portraying him as a sweet and honest man. There was just something about him that made it so easy to connect with him. On the other hand, Garrett’s character, I am not really sure what I feel towards him. I did enjoy his character, but I didn’t love him as much as I did Cole’s.
There was plenty of action that was happening during the course of the book. And not just from the bull riding parts of it. There was suspense that was done so well it kept me reading more and more. The
author has an amazing ability to balance all of the different aspects of the book to the point where it all worked out amazingly well.
One main thing that I give the author massive props for is that even though the book started with sex, that wasn’t what the book was about. There is more happening in the book than the smoking sex that takes place between Cole and Garrett.
Overall, I did really enjoy this story and I will be sure to check out more from this author in the future!
Perfect Ride is the perfect start to the Ridden Hard series. There is plenty of action in this novella to keep you engaged from start to finish, and not all the action is between the sexy cowboys. In Perfect Ride we meet Garrett and Cole. Garrett is a professional bull rider and Cole is on the team responsible for Spitfire, THE bull to ride at this rodeo. Luckily for Cole (and us), Spitfire isn’t the only thing Garrett wants to ride and that was a scorching scene
Make no mistake though, there is more to this novella than hot cowboy lovin’. Garrett and Cole find themselves drawn to one another, but events at the rodeo prevent them from knocking boots again as one of our cowboys finds himself on the wrong end of a gun. This does, however, give them time to consider their feelings internally but neither express them before one must move onto the next rodeo while the other is forced to stay and recuperate in the hospital. As they begin to admit their feelings to themselves, they reunite and the authors give us another gun stand-off to ramp up the action. Do our cowboys get a happy ending? You’ll have to read a Perfect Ride to find out for yourself.
Ms. LeFoy and Ms. Sadler have produced a well-written novella for their new series, Ridden Hard. It’s a quick read filled with cowboys (yum), romance, rodeo intrigue, hot sex, and flying bullets. If you’re in the mood for some hot
cowboy loving, give it a read – I doubt you’ll be disappointed.
