I just finished Forty 2 days and I liked it. This is sequel to The Billionaire Banker so to understand what is going on you will have to read that one before Forty 2 Days or you will be totally confused. As a refresher Lana has to help her mother. She has cancer and it costs a lot of money that she doesn’t have so she chooses Blake as a lover to help pay for the treatments. What she didn’t expect was to fall in love with him. She has to sign a contract to keep things secret but she ends up pregnant which is conflicting with the contract that she signed. If she ends up pregnant she has to terminate the pregnancy. As she is trying to figure out what to do, Blake’s fiancé Victoria shows up and offers to pay Lana money to leave. Saying what she already knows (Blake will never love her, blah blah blah) accepts the money and leaves. Here it is now 7 months later and Blake wants her back. He is now cold hearted to her but wants what is his due. 42 days…. What will happen in those 42 days? You will have to read and see….
I liked the story and thought it was better than the first one. The editing to me was better even though at times I was still sorted of confused who was talking but again it was better. The predictability was better, some I could still guess or have at least speculation but at times I was quite surprised with what unraveled in the story. You honestly just have to read to see.
In this one, I was able to get a feel for Blake. Yes he is cold hearted and mean towards her but who wouldn’t be when she up and left him with no word when he was starting to feel things for her. Again no matter how he acts towards her there is always a reason and he just tells her that it is for her own good. I felt sorry for him when you find out why he is the way he is but for me I was just glad that I could feel him in this one. He had a voice. As for Lana, she is the same. She is a sweet and innocent girl and I felt bad with the things that she has to go through in her life. The chemistry between them two was better for me. It was hotter and was able to tell now that it was two sided and not just one in the 1st.
It’s a good story that has a lot of plot twist and cannot wait to read the final in the story.
Georgia Le Carre lives in England, in an old 19th century romantic cottage surrounded by a magical garden filled with fruit and walnut trees. When she is not feeding words into her laptop, she is either curled up in bed with a box of
chocolates and a good read, or lost in a long walk in the woods. Especially on moonlit nights. And often with the man of her dreams.
