Underestimated Too by Jettie Woodruff

WARNING. This book contains: explicit sex scenes (some forced, some not), intense situations not meant for the faint of heart, abuse, adult language and content.Money is not the most important thing in the world; love is – so they say anyway. Fortunately, Drew loves money. He wasn’t capable of loving anything else. The more money he made, the more he needed to make. Always chasing a deal, that was the most important thing in the world to him.

You rode Morgan’s side of the tracks. Now ride Drew’s. You know the things she went through, things nobody should go through. Is Drew sorry for his part in that? Probably not. He’s not sure things would have turned out the way they did had he been the cute little husband the critics expected him to be. He did do things that hurt her and regretted a lot of his choices, but he tortured himself, wanting to do them still.

You think you know Drew? You don’t know squat. You know what his wife has told you. She couldn’t tell you more than that, she doesn’t know that part of Drew. You want a sappy cliché romance? Move on, this isn’t the story for you. You want all the gruesome details? Stick around, and then you can judge Drew.

When I read Underestimated I was left angry and frustrated at Morgan and her behavior.  If you would have told me I would have become a fan of Drew, I would have laughed in your face but dang if the author didn’t do that to me.  We have series where the first book in one POV and then the second book rehash the same events in a different POV.  This was similar to that, but with this series we saw everything about Drew, where he came from, why he was like he was and how he and Morgan finally will end up.
The author does it in the therapist office when it comes to learning about Drew.  We revisit the events from the first book but with her writing style it didn’t feel like a replay from the first book, it had a fresh spin on it, a new way to see things and a ton of undiscovered truths that no one expected.
By having the truth exposed in the therapist office, we were able to see Morgan as she learned about her husband with us.  She was able to get the answers to what was going on while she was held captive by Drew, why she was picked to be his bride and more about her real father.  Her and Drew had a connection from the time she was a small
child, one that would one day be the reason she was going to suffer for the sins of her father.
We get a look into Drew’s childhood, how he came to be in the mansion, what he lost and what was taken from him as
he was transformed into becoming the head of the jewelry business.  Drew was going to be forced to accept some hard realities about who he was and Morgan was going to have to accept her role in the abuse she suffered.  It wasn’t going to be easy for them and I wondered if they would even make it out of the office at times.
At one point in the book I told a friend, I can’t believe this author is making me like Drew and respect Morgan’s choice to stay with him.  How did this happen?  I hated Drew, I wanted him dead, now I want to comfort him and help him.  This is how brilliant this author is, she took my heart and reshaped it, changed my views and thoughts and allowed me into the mind of one of the sickest men I have ever read about and come out as a fan of his for his strength and love for Morgan.
If you want a series that will totally mess with your mind, this is the one for you.  It will be a very long time before I forget this story.

If you haven’t read Underestimated DON’T Read this review, it’ll give part of the story away.
UT is the sequel and is for a good portion in Drew’s point of view in a way (you’ll have to read it to know what I
mean).. We get to see Drew’s side of Underestimated along with how their life is after the first book.
Things aren’t all happy and flowers. Which they shouldn’t be for this couple. They are complex, different and unique. Just like any normal marriage. They have their own issues that need to be worked out and through.
I know a lot of people had a hard time with Morgan being with the man that had at one time beat her or not leaving him when it happened, but I totally related with her and her decisions. She isn’t willing to give up on Drew when he is trying to be the best husband he can be with the life that he has lived.
We get steamy and naughty sex, which if you know Drew and Morgan, you know they wouldn’t be them without it. But we have all the trials and MOUNTAINS that they have to get over.
Another HUGE slam dunk book for Jettie for those of you who enjoy erotic, real characters with real life problems.
