I just finished Bad Girlfriend and I really liked it.  If you have been following the First and Last series then you know that this is the fourth one.  Safe With You (Wyatt and Taryn)is the first one followed by Just One Reason (Lindsay and Grady) and then the third one is Fourth Down (Poppy and Ford).  This is about Adam and Brooke.  Brooke is friends with everyone here and Adam is the new principal and is living above the garage until he gets settled.  Brooke
has had bad luck with men, never really having a relationship with them just really only physical is not sure she is even deserving of love.  The girls rally up and give a list to Brooke with rules to follow for dating. Adam wants to prove to Brooke that he can follow this list and that love does exist. Because of Brooke’s track record would she be willing to let Adam show her how good it can be between them, being friends first before lovers?  You will have to read and see.

Adam is sexy in a nerdy way which I love by the way.  It was good to read a character that is different from the trend that is going on nowadays.  Not saying I don’t love me a bad boy but it was just nice to read something different.  You got to love Brooke.  She is considered the town hussy but honestly that must be because of it being a small town but what she has done really doesn’t constitute a hussy to me.  Let’s just say that I have heard worse!  I get it though so reading them two together you know that there is going to be some conflict, it is needed in a story and I thought that
it was handled really well.  I can say that the chemistry between them is sexy and hot and was glad that in the end, they had the HEA.

I really did enjoy this story.  This author has a way of spinning it that made it refreshing and unique for me.  I thought that it flowed really well and that even though this could be read as a standalone, you would really want to read this story in order to understand the characters and what is going on in their lives.

I cannot wait to see what happens.  Graham maybe?  We will have to wait and see…
I liked this book, but I struggled with the concept of how long it took for Brooke to get her brain wrapped around she  was worthy of love.  Being the product of a teenage pregnancy and being raised by her grandmother, I could  understand why she struggled with her  self-worth, but I wished she could have accepted this fact earlier.  I would have loved to seen her and Adam together earlier in the book rather than him trying to win her over for so long.
Adam is the new principal for the local school.  Coming to town in a hurry after accepting the job, he moved into the neighborhood.  Their first encounter was less than what either of them would want to base a relationship on, but he is the kind of man that was determined before they went on, he was going to prove not only his ability to be a respectable boyfriend, but he was wanting to prove to her that she deserved that respect.
Being known in town as the hussy, which she certainly didn’t deserve, she has gone to her friends who are all settled in relationships to gather a list of things she needs to do and expect so she can settle down in a respectable relationship.  Adam is just the man to prove to her this is possible.
I enjoyed this story, it was a nice  change from the alpha males that come across to strong, Adam is more of the kind nerdy man, but he had his hot moments.  Brooke while appearing to have it all together, allowed the reader to see her insecurity and weaknesses, but her longing to be a better person than what she is now.  The characters were wonderful and easy for the reader to not only understand but enjoy the journey with them and the author did a wonderful job with her writing style, making sure the reader was able to follow along well and invest in the story.

No sooner had Chet pulled his old muscle car out of the driveway than Gram pulled her little red sports car in.  That was a close call.  Not that she thought I was still a virgin or anything, but I never wanted her to walk in on me in the
middle of anything.
Pulling the belt of my robe tighter around my waist, I got a drink of water and leaned back against the counter.  Gram came in through the kitchen door a minute later, took one look at me barefoot in my robe and shook her head.  I guess I didn’t get away scot-free after all.
“Brooke, what are you doing?”
I jingled the ice in my glass.  “I’m getting a drink of water.  How was poker night?  You’re home early.  Did you win big?”  Gram played every Sunday night with some ladies from church.  They bet some serious cash, and Gram usually came home with a pretty big haul.
She lowered her white eyebrows and pointed a finger at me.  “Don’t you try and change the subject, young lady.  I saw that hooligan leaving here in the middle of the night.  And then I find you standing here naked.  Lord knows
I wasn’t born yesterday.”
“I’m not naked,” I countered.  “And it’s not the middle of the night.”
“There’s only one reason a boy like that comes over here.  And it’s not a good reason.”
I sighed and took a seat at the table.  It had been a while since she had lectured me.  Of course, I was usually much better at hiding what I was doing.
“You can’t keep giving away the milk for free, Brooke.  It gives them no reason to buy the cow.”
I really loved being compared to a cow.
