This is one of those books where I had mixed emotions about it while I was reading it.  But after finishing it and looking back, I realized that I did enjoy this book quite a bit.  The story was interesting because it brings up the whole online dating thing, which is a pretty popular way of dating these days.
I liked the fact that Sophia was smart enough to check with her friends and family and make sure they knew who Kayden was.  By the author adding that part into the story, it makes it seem more “safe” and she’s not just having Sophia running off and meeting some strange guy.  So while it may seem like non-important information to have the in the story, I thought it was great.
There was plenty of drama that takes place in this book, you add bottles of booze and a crazy ex-girlfriend, and of course it’s going to be interesting!  Sophia’s character shows a bunch of strength throughout the book.  I enjoyed that she was willing to stand next to Kayden even when he was pushing her away.  That shows the type of person that she is.  Kayden’s character seemed very unappreciative to me at times, but I suppose that’s just the way of an addict.
This story touches on some important things that take place in day to day life, and even though Kayden was going through a really tough time for the majority of the book, it was still nice to see as he was able to overcome  everything and still come out on top.
I would consider this a book a romance that has a little bit of everything in it.  Overall, it makes for a great read!
Something you may or may not know about me is that I met my husband online.  This made me very curious about “Untangle Me”, as the main characters meet through chance online, and from there their lives sort of weave together.  I will say that this story is a bit more erotic than my own.  And there’s a lot more six/eight pack abs in story than mine…my husband has more of a keg.  But, it is nice to see a story where there main characters meet in a way that is becoming more common in this day and age.

Kayden is a bad boy (c’mon, you know you love the bad boys).  He’s got a bit of shady past involving addiction and troubles with the law.  And he hasn’t exactly made the best decisions when it comes to women either.  When he meets Sophia, the “goodgirl”, he immediately views her differently.  And what starts as a casual encounter becomes really important to both of them.

This tale is full of plenty of angst, so if you’re an angst-lover you will not be disappointed here.  Kayden, while endearing by the end, takes some time to get used to.  He’s just such a scoundrel!  But, to give him credit, he’s different with Sophia.  Make fun of me if you wish, but I’m a true believer that when you find someone you can spend the rest of your life with, you know.  And things just fall into place from there.  I felt that was very much the way things went for Kayden and Sophia, and I really liked that.  Sophia is a great female character too.  I really admired that way that she embraced new experiences and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind.  Even though she is the stereotypical “naïve” girl, she’s not annoying.  It works for her, and he has a good balance of fragility and strength that I think is very realistic.  Plus, she likes to read (she’s a school librarian) and has some book boyfriends  obsessions…totally my kind of girl.  Also, the main characters are in their 30’s and in my humble opinion, there aren’t enough love stories about couples at this age.  I, for one, really appreciated that!

This book’s POV alternates between the two main characters.  I’m a fan of this, as I feel it gives the reader a very complete story to follow.  I know some people think that it takes some of the mystery out of the story, but don’t worry about that here.  There are plenty of twists and turns in this plot to keep you invested in the story.

Overall, I really enjoyed the story.  When I finished reading it, I was teetering between giving it 4 or 4.5 stars, but I have now decided that because it has a warning about “objectionable material”, it deserves 4.5.  Well, that and the fact that it’s a well-written and engrossing storythat you won’t be able to put down.  Enjoy, book friends!

I have been a teacher for over ten years, and needed a creative outlet for all my naughty thoughts. I received a bachelors degree in History and a Masters in Education, which led me to becoming a high school history teacher.I love to read, I can devour a book a day, when given the chance or having the time. I can’t pick one favorite book, there are just too many that come to mind. I do have favorite authors though. My top five authors are: Colleen Hoover, S.C. Stephens, Tarryn Fisher, CJ Roberts, and Kele Moon. I agonized over the top five. There are so many fantastic Indie authors that help feed my quest for the next best story.

Writing has been a journey unlike; filled with anguish, love, fear, and creativity. I’m excited for the next step and to share Kayden and Sophia.
