Chasing Terpsichore Tour Stop!!

Book One in the Muses Across Time series.
When a Greek goddess lands in modern times there’s bound to be trouble.
Banished from her home in Olympus and trapped in modern day Australia, Terpsichore does her best to fit in, but when she is mistaken for a prostitute she needs the services of straight- laced solicitor James Barrington to help.
James Barrington is a man on a fast track to a stellar legal career. Being involved with a pole dancing tango teacher
is not part of the plan.
Together they fight an unknown stalker, a Titan rebel and a journey through the Underworld but can they find each
other on the way?
I began my love affair with romance books through a paranormal romance series that included Greek Gods and Goddesses, so this book had me super excited from the description.  Unfortunately, it fell a bit flat for me.The premise is that one of Zeus’ children, Terpsichore (Corey) has been exiled from Mt. Olympus and works in a strip club in Sydney.  She is mistaken for a prostitute and enlists the help of a lawyer.  What she doesn’t know is that she is being hunted for revenge by someone from the Underworld in order to get revenge upon Zeus.   So begins their adventure.

Corey is a pretty adorable character.  She’s fun and is really what James needed, as he’s a bit of a stuffed shirt.  I guess really what it boiled down to for me was that I had a hard time connecting with the story.  Not because it was a paranormal romance, but because the writing just didn’t quite delve deep enough for me.  I felt that the characters  just weren’t developed enough, but it is a short story at around 100 pages, so that may account for the lack of depth.  The story is exciting, and the sex scenes were up to snuff for sure!  For me, I just wish the book could have been longer in order to explore more about the characters and their motivations.  All in all it’s not a bad book, nor is it
poorly written…I just really needed more of it!  3.5 stars for me!
Maggie Mitchell lives in her dream place by the sea. Of course, sometimes she even gets the dreams written down in a story. Lucky for her she has a musician for a husband who understands the creative spirit. In her other life she teaches undergraduate university nursing students and designs eLearning courses for health organisations. Most days you’ll find her out on her balcony enjoying a glass of Moscato or a cappuccino made on her beloved espresso machine.
